The Story of Goldilocks Once upon a time there was a band called Goldilocks. The group performed the best of rock, pop and R&B, including Green Day, Blondie, U2, Kelly Clarkson, Blink 182, No Doubt, Bon Jovi, Alanis Morissette, Prince, Madonna, and much, much more. GOLDILOCKS stars: Jude (Lead Vocals-Guitar): AKA "Dude,Hey,and King Hookah Jude has played in some of Long Island top grossing and well-known cover bands. He was the leader and charismatic front man of FOAM. Known for his live show antics and rock star stage presence, Jude became the prototype for the high-energy cover band front man. He was also a guiding member of the super-group ALIEN POP, which had two singles on WLIR, and was a regular Sunday band at the Dublin Pub. Since then Jude played around the New York area with MOJO (where he met GOLDILOCKS drummer Mike) and DIRTY PENNY. Jude took some time off from the cover scene to finish off a musical, three screenplays, and a marriage to a luna-chick. When Jude tasted the three bears porridge, he tried to smoke it. Leslie (Lead Vocals): AKA L Train and Goldilocks Leslie moved to Manhattan from Beachwood, Ohio at age 17 to study voice and musical theater at NYU. Although this is her virgin band, she has performed in rock musicals such as Hair,Footloose and Grease. She brings energy and showmanship from her years on the stage to every show. In just a matter of months she has graduated from groupie to Rockstar. When not bringing SexyBack, Leslie has a busy career in corporate America, as well as an incurable Dachshund fetish. When Leslie tasted the porridge she said,Its too cold! I want a cheeseburger!! Miguel (Bass-Background Vocals): AKA Mig, Little Big Man, or My Legal Counsel Miguel has been a part of the Long Island music and club scene in many capacities for many years. He was the owner of Dublin Centre, a Rockville Centre hot spot in the late 1990s, where Jude and FOAM performed. After watching the bands rock his stage, Miguel decided that it wasnt enough to own the stage--he wanted to be on it. After playing guitar in bands on Long Island, as well as Manhattan, the always-adaptive Mig turned to bass and began working with the classic rock/top 40 bands NO FAULT, and later DIRTY PENNY. When Miguel tasted the porridge he said,Its too hot! Im going to sue Quaker Oats!! David (Guitar-Background Vocals): AKA Mr. Kotter Soon after receiving his first guitar for his 14th birthday, David began playing local punk shows at various Nassau County clubs. At age 16 he recorded an original CD with the band WE ARE GROOVE ANIMALS. By day he works at Middle School 137 in Ozone Park, Queens, where he teaches the students how to rock and sometimes even a little math. When David tasted the porridge he said, Its just right! And then he surprised the three bears with a pop quiz. Mike (Drums-Background Vocals): AKA Drummerlicious, Animal Mike performed his first gig at age 13 with jazz pianist Marty Napoleon of the Louis Armstrong band, and hasnt stopped since. He has played with countless cover bands, including MOJO, DOUBLE DARE, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, AS SEEN ON TV and STEEL HORSE. As composer and producer Mike led his own original band, GROOVALICIOUS, receiving radio airplay and rave reviews throughout NY and Massachusetts. He can also be seen with the reggae group HI TIDE, MOTOWN AND MORE, and the SOL YAGED JAZZ QUARTET. By day he is the editor-publisher-owner of a Queens community newspaper, and his writing has appeared in national music magazines such as Modern Drummer and Electronic Musician. Mike prefers blueberry pancakes to porridge, and said, Somebodys been sleeping in my bed! Thankfully, it was Goldilocks. And they all made beautiful music together, packing clubs and bars with satisfied customers rocking out happily ever after. THE END |
